Upper West Side Classes

Upper West Side Classes | 251 W. 72nd St, 2F (Btw Broadway & West End)

We do not pre-register Prenatal, Postnatal, or Baby & Me yoga classes at the Upper West Side studio. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early before taking your first class. New Prenatal yoga students are welcome to take any class on our schedule and then decide whether to put their first class towards a class package, or purchase a single class. If you prefer to continue as a drop-in student, after your first class, you will be limited to our Saturday classes.

Please note that all students may opt to take drop-in classes at full term, generally after the 37th week of pregnancy.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class.

Policies and Guidelines

The Prenatal Yoga Center honors and respects the journey of pregnancy and new motherhood. With that in mind, we have created guidelines and policies that offer flexibility while maintaining the integrity and intention of our yoga program and other professional services. We appreciate your understanding and observance of our guidelines and policies and look forward to serving you.

Enrollment & Attendance

  • Prenatal, Postnatal, Mommy & Me and Infant Massage are ongoing; you may start at any time.
  • For Prenatal, Postnatal and Mommy and Me yoga, you do NOT need to commit a specific day, and you are never limited to a certain number of classes per week.
  • New Mother’s Support Group, Music for Babies and Baby Sign Language classes are NOT offered as open enrollment. Please check the events page for specific start date.
  • First time yoga students are welcome to purchase a single class before committing to any series or package.
  • If you don’t want to commit to a package, that’s ok. You can pay for just the one class – it’s $27. But going forward, you can only drop in on Saturdays. Saturdays are open for drop-ins any time all the time.
  • Students are welcome to take drop-in classes without a class package obligation after their 37th week.
  • Please refrain from wearing heavy perfume or scented oils to class, since pregnant women are more sensitive to smells.
  • Out of respect of our community and teaching staff, if you are ill, please stay home and take care of yourself.  With a doctor’s note, class packages can be extended.

We do NOT pre-register our weekly yoga classes on the UWS

Classes are filled on a “first come first serve” basis. While we did consider preregistration like many other studios offer, we serve a very unique population. Studios that offer preregistration often have a cancellation policy ranging from 1 – 24 hours advance notice without being charged. Given we serve pregnant women and new moms with babies, this policy would not be appropriate considering last minute changes can occur more often with a baby or a pregnant mom than your average person. Looking at the bigger picture, we feel the best way to accommodate our community is to run on a “first come first serve basis.” Please aim to arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of time to assure a space. We appreciate the community’s understanding for this policy.
