Join us for Prenatal yoga! The Prenatal Yoga Center hosts its unique program at Modern Martial Arts Tribeca. Catering to the needs of the students, this class links yoga postures with breath, helping to bring awareness to the mind and body as well as a connection to your baby.
The program, taught by Hess and conducted in a calm, peaceful environment, will help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation and increase overall comfort. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy. A safe, open community allows you to freely discuss any issues or concerns and share the wonderful new changes you and your baby are experiencing.
Classes can be purchased in a monthly series. If you miss a class during your series, you can make-up your missed class by taking any Prenatal yoga class at our UWS location. Single classes CANNOT be purchased for this location.
Modern Martial Arts Tribeca is located at 78 Reade St (near Reade and Church)
Students are permitted two (2) make-up classes only. Missed prenatal classes must be made up at Prenatal Yoga Center (Upper West Side location). Students have three weeks after their session’s end date to make up the missed class(es). Classes do not carry over to the next satellite session. Should you deliver within your 4-week session, unused classes will be credited to Mommy and Me or Postnatal Yoga classes at PYC, to be used within 6 months. Unused classes will be forfeited, and unused classes will NOT be carried over to another pregnancy. With the exception of bedrest accompanied by a doctor’s note, The Prenatal Yoga Center cannot be responsible for providing additional make-ups or issuing any credit for classes missed as a result of scheduling conflicts, vacations, illness, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond our control. If you are put on bedrest, please notify the studio immediately and remaining classes will be transferred to Mommy and Me or Postnatal Yoga.
Hess Kim began her practice over a decade ago and it has evolved from a physical curiosity to a grounding way of life. She finds yoga is an eternal lesson on mental flexibility, strength and compassion and teaches her classes with that in mind. She completed her 200 hour Teacher Training with Sri Dharma Mittra and is in the process of completing her YU 300 hour Teacher Training with Alison West. Hess received her Prenatal/Postnatal certification with Deb Flashenberg and Nikita Maxwell at the Prenatal Yoga Center and is a DONA trained Birth Doula. When she’s not up to her C7 in anatomy, philosophy and breathing books, you can find her somewhere outdoors hiking, biking and baking.
Hess is forever grateful for her teachers, students, friends and family that share in and inspire her life everyday!
