Prenatal Yoga Center is here to guide you through the bumps and uncertainties of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. We understand the physical and emotional challenges you face during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Our classes are designed to ease your daily pregnancy aches and pains and help prepare your body and mind for a smoother, more efficient birth.

NEW HERE? WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED!

No prior yoga experience is needed. Our prenatal classes are designed specifically for pregnancy and meet you where you are. Many students are brand new to yoga.

You can join us at any point in pregnancy. Some students start in the first trimester, others join later. Our teachers offer options so you can practice safely and comfortably no matter where you are.

Our classes are designed to be accessible without being simplistic. You will be guided through options so you can adjust the practice to your energy level, experience, and stage of pregnancy. Classes include yoga asana, functional strength training specifically chosen to support the changing pregnant body, along with mobility, breath work, and relaxation. Many students are surprised by how supported and appropriately challenging the practice feels.

That is very common and exactly what our classes are designed to support. We focus on functional strength, mobility, and relief for areas like the hips, pelvis, back, and shoulders.

Absolutely. Many students come in feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or anxious. Our approach emphasizes education, nervous system support, and community so you feel more informed, supported, and confident over time.

Yes. Community is a core part of the PYC Method. We intentionally create space for connection so you are not just attending a class, you are joining a supportive group of people going through pregnancy alongside you.

Prenatal Yoga Center was the first yoga center in NYC dedicated exclusively to pregnancy and postpartum. Our classes focus on three core elements: building community, preparing your body for birth, and integrating childbirth education so you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing.

MY FIRST CLASS:

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of class.
  • IN STUDIO: We’ve got everything here for you; mats, blocks and other yoga props!
  • AT HOME PRACTICE: Please have a yoga mat, two yoga blocks (or full paper towel rolls), a blanket or thick towel and pillow. 
  • For your convenience we have 2 bathrooms, cubbies for storage, and a water filter to refill your water bottle.

YOGA ETIQUETTE:

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of class so our desk staff and teachers can get you checked in and ready for class.
  • Due to the sensitivity of other prenatal yoga students, please refrain from wearing perfumes and oils.
  • Late arrivals will not be permitted. DOORS LOCK WHEN CLASS BEGINS.

IMPORTANT:

  • We recommend pre-registration for all classes to hold your spot.
  • Cancel at least 8 hours prior to in-studio classes and 1 hour prior to online classes to avoid fees and penalties.

All classes are open to any level and trimester. We offer daily live, interactive online classes tailored to your individual needs every day as well as re-released classes for when you need to take a class on your own schedule!
